In this lesson, students will use the cyanotype process to create t-shirts that tell about who they are, without using a face. The images will concentrate on creating a meaningful composition, using anything available that will block the sun to create the portrait. The rules: Students cannot tell anyone what they are trying to do. The compositions and choices of object or material must tell the whole story. Students may use acetate or transparencies/negatives. Once the t-shirts have been created, students will interpret each others’ shirt and what it says about their identity. Students will create a coded, wearble artwork that explores their identity visually.
